Highway engineer asks railroad to add safety rail for old Red Ball Trail wooden bridge; board moves to executive session

Highway Engineer Mike McCormick updated the Bond County Board during Old Business about safety concerns for the old Red Ball Trail wooden bridge while a new bridge is being built. McCormick said he has contacted BNSF Railroad to request that the deck be repaired and a safety rail be added and that he will inform the Board of BNSF's response.
McCormick also told the board he will contact utilities, including the phone company, once the official plan for the new bridge is in place. Shortly after the update the board entered executive session at 7:06 p.m. and returned at 7:15 p.m., then adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
