Brickyard remediation and passive-park work expected this summer; wetland reviews caused minor delays

City Engineer Glenn Davis told the Committee that the Brickyard remediation pre-construction conference with contractor Buckeye Elm has occurred and mobilization is imminent, though staff did not believe active construction had started at the time of the meeting. Wetland delineation and permitting created a modest delay, but Davis said work could proceed outside the wetland areas while paperwork completes.
Davis and Assistant Director Jon Bellack clarified that two restrooms are part of the Passive Park project rather than the Remediation scope and that both projects are aimed for an end-of-summer timeline if permitting and weather cooperate. Davis also said some approvals remain pending but that staff expects the outstanding items to be paperwork-related rather than substantive environmental obstacles.
No public opposition or contested permits were raised during the Committee discussion; staff will advise the Committee when mobilization begins.
