The Board of Regents for the Regional University System of Oklahoma voted unanimously on Oct. 1, 2025, to offer the position of Chief Executive Officer of RUSO to Candidate C, with a starting salary of $230,000.00, a RUSO benefits package, and a start date of October 20, 2025. The motion to make the offer was moved by Regent Thomas Kupiec and seconded by Regent Amy Anne Ford; the Board approved the motion after returning to open session at 4:24 p.m.
The Board had convened an executive session earlier in the meeting under 25 O.S. §307(B)(1) and (4) specifically “for the purpose of discussing the employment, hiring, appointment, promotion, demotion, disciplining, or resignation of the Chief Executive Officer for RUSO.” After exiting executive session at 4:23 p.m., the Regents took the open-session vote to extend the offer. Joely Smith recorded roll earlier in the meeting; Regent Ryan Walters was noted as not in attendance. The Board directed staff member Debra to prepare an offer letter detailing the terms.
