Residents ask about rates as Wall adopts $1.9M water and sewer bond ordinance

On July 28 the Township Committee adopted Ordinance 18-20-26, a bond ordinance to fund various 2026 water and sewer utility improvements by appropriating $1,900,000 and authorizing the issuance of $1,800,000 in bonds or notes.
During the public hearing resident Judy Barnes asked, "I just wanna know if this is gonna make our water bills go up." A township staff member responded: "Miss Barnes, the, the payments and down payment for the, capital improvements are within their budget." The staff representative added that the improvements are intended for replacement of distribution lines, fire hydrants and valves. The committee closed the hearing and adopted the ordinance by a unanimous roll-call vote.
