Pavlov Media offers to pursue BEAD funding for county broadband expansion

Mark Shelden of Pavlov Media spoke to the board about an opportunity to secure BEAD grant funding to install fiber broadband in unserved and underserved parts of DeWitt County. Shelden said Pavlov would perform the grant application work and help the county seek funds to extend broadband access.
Chairman Matthews noted he did not bring forward a board motion on letters of support for broadband at this meeting. The presentation prompted discussion about timing and next steps; the board did not vote on committing matching funds or authorizing letters of support at the Nov. 21 meeting.
