Plano ISD names new principals at Matthews Elementary and Murphy Middle

Dr. Mark Lederer introduced two new administrative appointments to the board April 7: John Newman as principal of Matthews Elementary School and Allison (Allison/Lisonbee) Reams as principal of Murphy Middle School.
Lederer said Mr. Newman is a Plano ISD product who has served in PISD as a special education teacher and assistant principal and ‘‘has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, collaboration and instructional leadership.’’ He described Allison Reams as an 18‑year educator who earned a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and most recently served as associate principal at Richardson High School; Lederer said Reams is eager to return to middle‑school leadership.
Both appointees were introduced to the board and thanked for their willingness to lead the respective campuses; board members and cabinet members welcomed them and posed for photos.
