Plano ISD reports summer school expansion and ILEAP participation

District staff reported expanded summer offerings and ILEAP credit‑recovery participation: about 2,000 students used ILEAP this year with 5,200 semester enrollments and roughly 2,600 course completions as of March 20; district emphasized summer programs support leadership development and enrichment.
Stacy Singleton and Assistant Superintendent Courtney Gober updated trustees on Plano ISD’s summer school and ILEAP (Innovative Learning Experience and Pathways) programs on April 7.
Singleton said the district will offer a variety of summer options including traditional summer school, credit recovery, enrichment experiences and new elementary enrichment courses developed in partnership with community organizations such as Toyota. "For summer of 2026, we are excited to continue expanding engaging learning opportunities for our students," she said.
Regarding ILEAP, Singleton and staff reported that as of March 20 the program had about 2,000 participating students and more than 5,200 semester enrollments; about 2,600 courses had been completed and average progress across courses was cited at about 66%. "I LEAP remains an important option for secondary students seeking the ability to recover credits and stay with their cohort toward graduation," Singleton said. Staff also described leadership development benefits of summer staffing and the district’s plan to continue scholarships and reduced fees for families who qualify.
