The Solid Waste Advisory Committee discussed membership and scheduling.
Chair Aaron Lawhead noted a member (Mr. Hansel) had been absent for roughly a year and that bylaws require commissioner action to remove members. He proposed letting the term expire on Dec. 31 rather than initiating a removal process. Committee members agreed that exhausting the term would be the simpler path while staff explores recruitment for a Pullman representative.
The committee also set the next meeting for Sept. 8 but said they would consider moving the date if it conflicts with the county fair; members volunteered to staff a recycling booth during the fair. "Why don't we go ahead and keep it as scheduled now? And if Boone has any issues, we can always address the time," the chair said.
