Interim director proposes expanding CEDA contract amid rising workload; mayor urges budget review

Interim EDA Director Chris Hahn asked the board for input on expanding the CEDA contract from the current five days per month to two days per week, saying "there is enough work to support 2 days per week" given prospects such as potential data-center activity and assistance to HAHS. Hahn said CEDA would hire for the Harmony community and that he would continue direct support one day per week for the initial transition period.
Mayor Steve Donney cautioned that the EDA typically would not undertake contract changes without budget review and suggested Hahn work with the city Budget Committee and Administrator Alissa Stelpflug to prepare a proposal and recommendation. The EDA did not vote on the change at the May 7 meeting.
