Residents report new local businesses and voice concerns about data centers

Several members of the public addressed the Board during the Feb. 10 meeting. Travis Harris reported that a grocery store hopes to open in May 2026 and thanked County Administrator Derek Stamey for assistance; he also "expressed his disappointment in the Board’s decision to table the 2A Resolution." Tim Martin raised concerns regarding data centers. Reed Terry, district field representative for Congressman John J. McGuire III, introduced himself and encouraged residents to contact his office with constituent matters.
Betty Myers (earlier in the meeting) commended school officials for closing during inclement weather and asked for follow-up on local projects including Green Ridge and the Courthouse Project.
The Board did not take formal action on these comments; they were recorded for the public record and to inform future agenda work.
