Board hears update on internships and Virtual Reading Room expanding researcher access

Chelle Davis reported that the Library's new part-time internship coordinator, Rachel Murphy-Weast, is supporting five summer interns from Virginia Commonwealth University, Hampton University, William & Mary, and Norfolk State University through mentoring, community building, and program assessment.
Davis also reported that the Virtual Reading Room continues to receive strong patron feedback and is expanding access for researchers who cannot visit Richmond in person. The committee framed these developments as strengthening researcher engagement and broadening participation among students and early-career researchers.
