Joe Borczuch reported council was briefed by Cleveland Water staff on the lead service line replacement (LSLR) schedule and that the city has 270 residential service lines still containing lead. "My understanding is that the city has 270 residential lines that are still lead. Per the water department’s state mandate they must have them all replaced by 2037," Borczuch said, relaying the utility's direction.
Borczuch said the Pineway/Mapley/Bagley storm sewer project held a preconstruction meeting and is expected to start in February; he described coordination with Cleveland Water to align the storm-sewer construction and water main service-line replacement work and said resident notification materials will be provided. He indicated the initial LSLR work will be on the lines within that storm-sewer project area and that lines are distributed across 14 streets in the community.
