Olmsted Falls council approves health, property and cyber insurance renewals

Olmsted Falls City Council voted unanimously Nov. 11 to adopt three emergency resolutions renewing the city's insurance coverages, including employee health/dental/vision, municipal property and liability, and cyber insurance.
Finance Director Tom Reynolds told council the employee health plan renewal was competitively procured with assistance from insurance consultant Gallagher and asked for expedited action so there would be no lapse in coverage. "Two of the three policies expire soon which is why he is asking for approval this evening so there is no gap in coverage," Reynolds said. Council moved to suspend the rules, waive the readings, and adopt each resolution on recorded polls that returned 6 ayes and 0 nays.
Resolution 58-2025 names MunichRe as the municipal property and liability insurer for the one-year period commencing Nov. 14, 2025; Resolution 59-2025 authorizes cyber insurance with Lloyd's of London/CFC for the same one-year period. The minutes record procedural motions to suspend rules and waive readings before each adoption; each motion carried with the same unanimous tally.
