Supervisor Robinson highlights audit, thanks finance director

Supervisor Robinson, speaking for the Human Resources, Finance and Property Committee, said the committee "received our annual audit report from John Raider from Baker Tilly" and pointed to continuing improvements in the county's financial preparations. He urged supervisors to review the comprehensive annual financial report included in the meeting packet, which examines spending trends over the last 10 years.
"I wanna go on record as thanking, our finance director, Samantha Fenske, and her entire department for the job that they do day in, day out relative to our county finances," Robinson said. The board did not take formal action on the audit itself during the meeting; Robinson also asked that one consent item be returned to the finance committee for additional review, a request the chair granted.
Why it matters: the audit and the 10-year financial review provide the board with trend data that will inform 2027 budget priorities and other fiscal decisions.
