The Mecklenburg County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a Special Exception Permit for property owners Tonya and Hattie Martin to allow a second home in an A G (agricultural) zoning district in Election District 5. The public hearing drew no public comment and closed before the Board voted to grant the permit with conditions recommended by the Planning Commission.
The Board recorded four conditions: the use "will not be detrimental to the public welfare," "will not adversely affect the health or safety of persons or the neighborhood," the applicant must meet VDOT requirements, and the site must meet Mecklenburg County Zoning Ordinance standards that require a SEP for a second home in AG zoning. The motion to approve was made by Dennis Spence and passed unanimously.
