The Board approved a tuition-assistance program to help Highway Department employees obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license. Highway Supervisor Brian Koch requested authority for a tuition payment and employment agreement that would pay up to $3,000 toward the program for an employee who does not have a Class A CDL; the Board approved the plan unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Chad Metz and second by Commissioner Dwight Nelson.
Koch told commissioners a formal resolution will be adopted before each approved agreement. The assistance is limited to the stated $3,000 cap per employee and is intended to expand the department’s pool of CDL-qualified drivers.
