Board approves grant awards for law‑enforcement, victim services and 9‑1‑1 upgrades

The Board approved a grant application and award under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) for the Multi‑Jurisdictional Gang, Gun and Narcotics Strike Force. Clerk Michelle Gunther listed the award (Resolution 2026000164), which the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office indicated will support investigative coordination across jurisdictions.
Prosecutor staff also secured a VOCA subaward (Resolution 2026000165) for Sexual Assault Response Team / Forensic Nurse Examiner services, with a listed award of $260,083 to support clinical services and the Forensic Nurse Examiner program during the grant year. "The VOCA funding helps sustain our SART and forensic nurse examiner staffing," the Prosecutor's Office reported in the file presented to the Board.
The Board also authorized acceptance of two FY2026 NextGen 9‑1‑1 grants from the New Jersey Office of Information Technology to upgrade Public Safety Answering Point systems and add positions. One award for $346,875.44 supports equipment and consolidation work (Resolution 2026000166) and a second award for $197,414.08 adds staffing for NG9‑1‑1 operations (Resolution 2026000167).
