Quay County tables Chamber funding request as Chamber rebuilds leadership

Ben White, a Quay County Chamber of Commerce board member, told commissioners the Chamber is in a rebuilding phase with a new board developing a strategic plan to recruit members and revitalize activities. "He emphasized the importance of restoring the Chamber's role in supporting the local business community and expressed confidence in the board's efforts moving forward," the minutes state.
Kristine Olsen, a chamber board member, requested county funding for FY 2026–27. Chairwoman Jerri Rush told Olsen the board would not approve the request at this time and recommended returning after the Chamber hires staff and can show measurable results. Commissioners voted to table the funding request (motion by Dallas Dowell; second by Brian Fortner).
