Northeastern Local board approves organization, consent agenda and financial items

Blake Shaffer, president, called the Northeastern Local Board of Education to order at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2026 at the Board of Education Annex. The Superintendent recommended approval of the Organization and Old Business agenda (Item 025-2026) and Mrs. Gray moved; Mrs. Krauss seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of 5–0.
The board then approved the consent agenda (Item 026-2026), which bundled personnel actions, substitute and volunteer lists, student activity account business and other routine items. Roll call on the consent agenda again showed unanimous approval: Gray, Krauss, Krupp, Shaffer and Yinger voted yes. The consent items included acceptance of a $250 donation from Catawba United Church to address negative lunch accounts and approval of vouchers and the financial report for January 2026.
The minutes record the board's procedural approvals without extended debate. The meeting agenda also included a student representative listing and informational items; no public comments were recorded during the public-participation portion of the meeting.
