Brad Bauer, Executive Director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust, presented the organization's quarterly update to the Board on March 9. Bauer said the trust is advancing a Gable House preservation easement and developing a railroad-district tour with volunteer assistance.
He described funding interest from conservation groups for a stream-restoration project near Dry Fork Creek and discussed private-funding approaches to adopt satellite-based virtual-fencing systems to help small livestock producers in rugged terrain. Bauer noted increased public use of Big Goose Natural Area after it became Dogs Off Leash and thanked Commissioner Mike Arzy for leadership on Red Grade parking improvements that help manage winter access.
