WIC services transfer to state July 1; county to start GPET ballot funding process

Administrative Director Cameron Duff told commissioners that the Sheridan WIC program will be fully transferred to the state effective July 1, 2026. Duff said services to clients will remain unchanged but the county will no longer fund the program after the transfer.
Duff also requested approval to begin the GPET funding application process in April for the final year of the 2026–2027 cycle. He said that, pending city and county approvals, GPET would appear on the November ballot. Commissioners gave staff permission to start the application process; the minutes record no vote but list the intent to proceed with the application work.
