The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners on March 3 unanimously approved Resolution 26-02-033 to formalize an affiliation and services agreement between Sheridan Memorial Hospital and Sheridan Health.
Deputy County Attorney Clint Beaver told the board he and Brendon Kerns, counsel for the hospital, had worked together to turn the hospital concept into a written agreement. Commissioner Nick Siddle, serving as the board's liaison to the hospital board, praised hospital leadership and public engagement in developing the plan. Commissioner Holly Jennings thanked Mike McCafferty for addressing her concerns, and Commissioner Mike Arzy said he believed the measures were "beneficial and protective for the hospital and community." Mike McCafferty, Sheridan Memorial Hospital CEO, expressed gratitude for the board's support and said the agreement is intended to underpin a long-term strategy to support community health.
Commissioner Lonnie J. Wright moved to approve the resolution; the motion passed unanimously. The board did not record a separate vote tally beyond a unanimous passage by the five commissioners present.
