Several administrative departments briefed the board on staffing, service continuity and environmental programs.
HR (speaker 11) said turnover decreased from 22.5% at the start of 2024 to 9.9% by December and described onboarding, an employee portal and plans for a FY26 comprehensive compensation review and expanded professional development. The HR presenter recommended succession planning because roughly a dozen employees are retirement-eligible this year.
The DMV Select office reported ~9,679 transactions and more than $736,000 in transaction value for 2024 and scored 100 on a DMV Select audit; however, with a single staffer on-site the office sometimes had to close for sickness or vacation and asked for a full-time position to be authorized in the FY26 budget. Environmental staff reported recycling totals (county buildings recycled ~12,400 pounds in 2024), plans for county cleanup days, a tire amnesty and outreach around a state styrofoam-container ban effective 07/01/2026. Staff requested help identifying full pickup schedules and noted rising recycling costs as an operational challenge.
