Avon leaders urge state review after ECS funding drops

Russo asked the town leadership to consider coordinated advocacy because "Avon gets drastically lower than our neighboring towns," and she called the funding differential a long‑standing issue the boards have raised with state officials. Board of Education Chair Debra Chute said the Board has repeatedly requested explanations and documentation from the state and that staff had previously invited state officials to meetings to explain the formula. The workshop discussion did not produce a new formal petition, but multiple members agreed continued state engagement is warranted.
