A Duchesne City representative told the council the city applied for and received a $1,500 grant linked to America250 and combined that with a $1,200 local contribution to finance fireworks for the July 4 evening program.
"We got the 1,500 for it... we ended up with 2,700 for the event," the Agency official said, adding that the city will run a full day of activities: a breakfast fundraiser, an 11 a.m. parade, a patriotic program in the park, talent shows, vendors and a climbing wall and dunk tank for evening activities.
Other municipalities reported related events: a rodeo on July 3–4, family fun night with tournaments, a car show in mid‑July, and free evening concerts during fair week. Event organizers discussed logistics such as vendor coordination, shuttle buses for large crowds and safety measures for fireworks where permitted.
No county permits or safety approvals were recorded during the meeting; local staff said they would continue standard coordination on safety and vendor permitting and confirm dates and times publicly.
