Parks levy and Covered Bridge walkway funding flagged after OAC dissolution

Borczuch told council that Fund 108 (park levy) brings in approximately $127,000 annually and that the city will be adding a park next to Falls Landing as OAC dissolves. He said some park areas have low activity but high maintenance costs, and the city has budgeted to update equipment when residential building activity provides deposit growth to Fund 113.
Borczuch also said the city was unsuccessful in obtaining a grant for repair of the Covered Bridge deck, which is failing and needs bank reinforcement and a new walkway for wheelchair access; last year’s estimate was $75,000–$80,000. He said he will reapply to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District for funding and that the city may have to undertake the work if grants are unavailable.
