Police Chief Dean Hayes updated the council on department equipment and staffing. He said he will pick up the tasers the city is purchasing from the Louisville Metro Police Department "on September 10." He also reported there is one police officer position open and "there have been no applications."
Chief Hayes also raised an operational issue about low-speed electric vehicles being sold with incorrect licensing guidance from dealerships; he said state law requires drivers to be 16 with a valid license and the city will publish an article in the next newsletter to inform residents of the law.
