Council adopts revisions to Anchorage sign code (Section 153)
Summary
After a second reading Council adopted amendments to Anchorage Section 153 to change review fees, allow swing signs, regulate banners and painted-wood signs in certain zoning districts, and revise rules for political and real-estate signs.
At the Nov. 11 meeting the Anchorage City Council completed a second reading and approved amendments to Section 153 of the Anchorage Code of Ordinances. The ordinance changes remove the review fee, permit swing signs, revise allowed materials and banner use in specific zoning districts, eliminate painted wood signs in CN zones, and change limitations on political and real-estate signs.
Patrick McMahon conducted the second reading and moved to approve the ordinance; Matt Delehanty seconded the motion and all in attendance voted to adopt the amendment. The ordinance was recorded in the minutes as adopted; no roll-call vote detail beyond unanimous approval was included in the minutes.
