Water precinct seeks guidance after town shifts to semiannual tax billing
Summary

Town Administrator Lynn Jones reported an email from the Lower Bartlett Water Precinct (LBWP) asking about its payment now that the Town has switched to semiannual tax billing. Jones said the first installment "wouldn’t be a lot," but cautioned that it is difficult to predict what will happen in the fall and that the Town has not needed to borrow funds yet.
Selectman Gene Chandler said he was open to providing an interim amount to the LBWP but asked to see collection figures; Jones said she will prepare figures and that the Town cannot finalize what it will owe the precinct until the tax rate is set later this fall. The Selectmen did not set a payment on July 22 and asked staff to present collection and obligation figures for a future meeting.
