Jane and Roger Labbe attended the July 22 meeting to report hazardous trees along the Town's right of way on Town Hall Road. Mr. Labbe said that "on Sunday a large limb had fallen from one of the trees into Town Hall Road" and that walkers had to move the limb to allow traffic to pass. He added that debris from a dead tree covered his lawn, which the highway crew helped clean up.
Selectman Gene Chandler said he had spoken to the Road Agent, who will rent equipment to remove the problem trees. Selectman Vicki Garland said the New Hampshire Electric Co-op is compiling a list of problematic trees in the area and will perform some cutting. The Labbes said the largest tree threatens a light pole at their property; the Selectmen did not set a removal date at the July 22 meeting but directed staff to proceed with removal planning.
