Montrose council approves water hookup and replat for Graff property

The Montrose City Council unanimously approved water service to Adam Graff for a future home north of Montrose on Fuller Avenue and adopted the Graff Addition Re‑Plat (Resolution No. 2026‑009).
At the July 14 meeting Adam Graff proposed connecting to a 2‑inch water line owned by neighbor Jeff Ohara and recommended curb‑stop shutoffs at both properties. Graff said an alternative was a tie‑in to Kingbrook Rural Water, which he said would be roughly 1,000 feet further into city limits. Finance Officer Nicole Siemonsma said staff had discussed commissioning an infrastructure study from DGR Engineering to determine how many additional houses the existing mains and the water tower could serve.
The council approved the service request (Action 26‑080) and then approved the re‑plat associated with the property (Action 26‑081). The approvals were recorded by unanimous roll call with no opposition. The council did not record any conditions on the hookups beyond the administrative approvals in the minutes.
