Behavioral-health partner to provide dedicated services in Bibb County jail addition

Cass Hatcher, who oversees the partnership with RiverEdge Behavioral Health, told the crowd the provider returned to onsite jail services and emphasized continuity of care after discharge. "Last year we served over 6,000 individuals," Hatcher said, describing intake assessments, medication management and suicide-prevention work performed in the facility.
Hatcher said the new addition will provide dedicated, warmer space for treatment and allow staff to move out of cramped rooms into purpose-built therapy and group spaces. County officials and the jail administrator said the behavioral-health component is central to phase 2 interior renovations and part of the county's effort to address treatment needs locally.
