Officials break ground on Bibb County jail addition, pledge timely, on-budget delivery

Miller credited voter approval of a one-cent sales tax and called the construction a priority for the commission and the community.
Colonel Samuel Giants, the jail administrator, and Sheriff David Davis described the addition as a step toward a future fully modern facility and emphasized that the work will include new security and support spaces. Sheriff Davis invited project partners and attendees to join a ceremonial turning of the first shovels to mark the start of construction.
