Single-bid streetscape contract for downtown Danbury awarded conditionally to J. lapaluccio
Summary

Purchasing Agent Charles J. Volpe told the Board that J. lapaluccio, Inc. submitted the only bid for Bid #06-25-26-02, with a total summation of $2,615,451.33. Volpe reported that Martinez Couch Associates reviewed the bid and recommended award subject to clarifying questions about unit pricing and work processes; Volpe said the vendor's July 27 responses were acceptable to the reviewer.
Director of Planning & Zoning W. Albakry moved to award the contract to J. lapaluccio contingent upon approval by the State of Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) and execution of the required contract documents. D. Garrick seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
The Board recorded that J. lapaluccio is already mobilized on the prior project phase and that MCA noted the bid summation was $857,793.00 below the engineering estimate. The award remains subject to CHRO approval and final contract execution before work proceeds.
