ZBA continues two Plum Island applications to Aug. 25
Summary
The ZBA granted continuances for applications affecting Plum Island: 82 Water Street (Steves) and 5 Parker Street (Parker 5 Realty Trust) to the August 25, 2026 meeting at the applicants' requests; both votes were unanimous.
At the start of the July 28 meeting the Newburyport Zoning Board of Appeals voted to continue two previously heard Plum Island matters to August 25, 2026.
The application for 82 Water Street (Scott and Madeline Steves) — a combined variance and special permit — was continued at the applicant's request. Vice Chair Ken Swanton moved to continue and the motion passed unanimously. The board then granted the applicant for 5 Parker Street (Edward Hill, trustee of Parker 5 Realty Trust, represented by attorney Lisa Mead) a continuance to the same date after the applicant asked to be continued.
Both continuance votes were recorded without opposition. Applicants and representatives will return to the board on August 25 for the resumed hearings.
