Resident questions school maintenance funding amid large equipment purchases

"While public safety equipment accounts for millions in funding, such as the $1,600,000 for, new fire apparatus, the Board of Education's structural maintenance budget is spread thin across minor line items like, $385,000 for elevator replacement, 500,000 for district HVAC repairs," Ehrenhaus said. Chair Anthony Freight replied that the package includes redoing Bunnell's track and providing a mobile cafeteria for Lordship School and that the mayor's team coordinated with the board of education to address immediate needs.
