WPCA gets timeline for sludge compactor evaluation; possible installation early next year

The WPCA received an update on the sludge compactor: staff told the board the vendor completed an evaluation of current and projected sludge volumes and has proposed an alternative design. Mister Hyde said the vendor expects to deliver a fuller evaluation around mid-October and that any installation would likely occur in early to mid next year.
"They have done an evaluation as to what our current volumes are, what the projected volumes are, and so forth. They have come up with yet another design that they want to introduce to us," Hyde said. He added the project is moving forward but that "nothing will happen until next year, probably," and that staff expects clearer recommendations by mid-October.
