Board hears Fairview parents’ concerns; asks for disaggregated discipline data and considers independent review

The superintendent updated the board on concerns raised by Fairview families, describing the sequence of meetings, the principal’s development of a response plan and the district’s receipt of discipline data. She said the administration will continue the conversation when school staff return and provided an interim summary of actions taken since the May 21 LSMC meeting.
Several board members urged disaggregated PBIS and discipline data over multiple years so the board and community can see trends by category and by demographic group. Board member Matt (who requested the Fairview item be added) suggested considering an independent facilitator, including outside mediators such as Children's Hospital, to ensure the process is perceived as neutral and to help restore trust between the school community and district leadership. Vice President Moffett clarified she had requested historical PBIS data presented to the school's LSDMC over time and asked for that data to be provided.
