Council sets new meeting schedule and hears manager updates on sidewalks and VFD assistance

Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported several routine updates: the TA set-aside sidewalk project is ongoing and Erie County Planning will host a kickoff for park and trail improvements on Sept. 13. The Union City Volunteer Fire Department requested use of a backhoe to demolish a shed at 10 Market Street; Public Works agreed to assist but will not provide a backhoe.
Council agreed to change its meeting dates beginning in September through April 2025 to the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30 PM. The council scheduled the next meeting for Aug. 27 and, because of Labor Day, the subsequent regular meeting for Sept. 16, 2024.
