Carroll County Delegation reopens executive-committee pay decisions after public concern

The motion passed 11–1, with Rep. Chris McAleer opposed. "No, I agree with Representative Brown. I think it's appropriate that it comes before the full board at this point," Rep. Steve Woodcock said, thanking the chair for convening the full Delegation.
Public commenters had urged review before the Delegation met: Daymond Steer of the Conway Daily Sun summarized the public's concerns, and Fred Cain of Wolfeboro said the raises were “exorbitant,” criticizing the timing and process. The Delegation’s action did not rescind the Executive Committee’s authority but required the full body to re-evaluate the recommended amounts.
The vote to reconsider provided the floor for granular review of individual positions and set the stage for a series of subsequent votes on specific salaries.
