Council voted unanimously to submit an application to the county for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds of up to $100,000 to cover a portion of stormwater-system repairs in Municipal Lot #1. The motion (by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Osborn) was recorded as carried.
Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips and Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported a plan for sinkhole repairs in Lot #1: Mansfield will fill the sinkhole, replace approximately 10 feet of pipe and install a new catch basin; smoke-and-dye testing will follow and paving quotes are being sought from JT Patching and Cross Paving. Business owners in the area and the Union City Volunteer Fire Department will be notified before smoke testing begins.
