Summary
The board agreed to use an extra $10,000 to fund a part-time (10-hour/week) programming position, with staff preparing a job description and aiming for an early-July start; members discussed ramping pay in June and finding ~$400 to cover partial pay before July.

Library staff said the board has an additional $10,000 in the budget intended to support a new programming position (10 hours per week). The director proposed drafting a job description with Hailey and Crystal, advertising and interviewing in May, and aiming for a July 1 start. "It's the 10 hour week position," the director said, and members sketched a plan for a ramped June start if needed.
Board members discussed the monthly cost and agreed they could find roughly $400 in existing funds to cover any partial June pay. They also agreed a small interview panel (two or three board members plus staff) would conduct interviews rather than the full board.
