Councilwoman Jerri Lynn Williams-Harper moved to approve the abatement and Councilman Dennis Perea seconded. City Clerk Jennifer Lee explained the city triggers code enforcement when properties present hazards or vermin; letters are sent for minor issues but abatement is pursued where public health or safety risks exist.
City Attorney Chris Arabia said he would coordinate with the Sheriff's Office to ensure any required steps for entering private property are followed. The motion passed unanimously.
