Zoning commission approves two subdivisions; county lists tentative town-hall dates

Kent reported zoning commission activity, including two subdivision actions and a conditional-use permit. He said the Knack Addition (Scott and Sheryl Knack) is approximately 13.8 acres (about 11.84 acres excluding county right-of-way) near Osceola Avenue and 150th Street in Correctionville; Twisted Timbers Acres (Jason Silvernagel) is about 6.32 acres (about 5.81 acres excluding ROW) at 3375 Dylan Avenue in Sloan. Kent also described a conditional-use permit for a temporary portable concrete batch plant owned by James D. Countryman to support the Iowa DOT Highway 20 reconstruction; the site will be restored to agricultural use when work is finished.
Kent announced tentative town-hall meetings: "The 1st meeting will be held in Sloan, Iowa, and that'll will be August 31 at 7PM. The 2nd meeting is in Mobile, Iowa, September 21 at 7PM, and the last 1 will be in Salix, Iowa, November 9 at 7PM." He cautioned dates are tentative and could change due to weather and harvest schedules.
