Woodbury County to sign federal-aid agreement for two bridge projects near Bronson

Woodbury County approved a federal-aid agreement so the Iowa DOT can forward federal funds for two competitive highway bridge program projects near Bronson. Secondary Roads engineer Laura Severs told the board both projects already have Iowa DOT approval for federal funding and signing the agreement is the county's next administrative step.
Severs said, "The 2 bridges are both estimated at 1,500,000 and we plan on receiving $979,271 for each of those bridges with this federal grant." The chair noted that approximately 80% of the cost would be reimbursed to the county, and praised Severs and her crew for securing the funding. The board voted to sign the agreement; the motion passed 5-0.
The action moves the projects into the phase where the DOT can receive and manage federal funds for design and construction as planned.
