Selectboard member Jim Salsgiver briefed the Board on a Taconic & Green School District meeting about consolidation options. He said the District approved research and modeling on three consolidation options; two of the three options would close Dorset School if they were advanced and found feasible. Salsgiver noted the process will take several years and that any final decision would be subject to a vote by T&G district voters.
The Board discussed the reasons and process and recorded no formal Town-level action beyond receiving the report. The item was presented as an update and the Board agreed to monitor the District’s modeling and any subsequent proposals that could affect local school operations and students.
