The Colfax City Council on Feb. 17 approved $3,135.67 in hotel/motel funding to help cover trophies, medals and T-shirts for the 7th Annual MacDougall Track and Field Invitational scheduled April 18, 2026.
Organizer Jason Cooper told the council the invitational expects 25 teams this year, including three new teams from Idaho, and is negotiating block room rates with local hotels for visiting athletes. "This year, the invitational expects 25 teams, including three new teams from Idaho," Cooper said during the presentation. Councilmember Golden moved to approve Resolution 26-01 and was seconded by Huntwork; the roll-call vote was all yes.
The funding is drawn from the city's hotel/motel allocation and was presented as assistance for event expenses such as trophies and participant shirts. The council took no additional conditions when approving the resolution. The next scheduled city meeting will post future grant requests and routine agenda items.
