Human Resources presented two labor agreements with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 39. Trustees approved a Memorandum of Understanding to increase wages for unit members earning below the California minimum wage of $16.90 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2026. The board also approved a separate MOU providing a one-time payment to eligible classified employees who missed 15-minute rest breaks during prior service; the payment is made without admission of liability and does not change salary schedules or ongoing obligations.
Both agreements were recommended by staff and approved by motion with recorded aye votes from the three trustees present. Superintendent Blacklock later acknowledged HR Director Christal Martinez and CSEA representatives for assisting in resolving the matter referenced in the meeting.
