The Richland Governing Board of Trustees convened Dec. 15 and approved its annual organizational appointments for 2026. Board President Tony Aguirre moved to appoint Cain Maldonado as Board President for 2026; the motion passed on a 3–0 vote among trustees present.
Trustee Melissa DeWitt was appointed Board Clerk and Aguirre was named Trustee Representative; Trustee Deanna Rodriguez-Root was selected as Trustee Alternate. The board also adopted the proposed 2026 meeting schedule (Option 1), which excludes a July meeting. All organizational appointments and the agenda approval recorded aye votes from Aguirre, DeWitt and Rodriguez-Root; Trustees Tammy Criswell and Cain Maldonado were absent for the roll call.
