Facilities update: roofs, shade structure and bus-leasing study reported to board

The facilities and finance subcommittee reported progress on capital and facilities items at the Oct. 23 board meeting. The chair said roofing work at High Desert is expected to be completed over the winter break and a shade structure project at Vasquez is scheduled to start over the winter break. The subcommittee also reviewed the lease for an iLEAD Agua Dulce campus and reported identified deficiencies had been communicated to the site and are being corrected.

The subcommittee noted it completed a bus-leasing cost analysis and found opportunities to save money in district transportation costs. No dollar totals were cited during the oral report; staff said more detailed materials and a facilities assessment were available to administration and would be pursued through normal project reporting channels.
